Doing stuff with delegates

Delegates allow you to give limited (or full) login capabilities to other people. Got a gal who manages your email? Set her up with a delegate account that only manages email!

Delegates can manage: email, DNS, shell and/or permissions.

  1. Log into your CalicoHosting.com account
  2. Click the plus (+) next to your domain.
  3. Click the little key icon next to "Manage Delegates"
  4. To add a delegate, click the person/plus-sign icon under "Add a delegate"
  5. Enter the desired username for the new delegate. When choosing a password please make sure it's secure. Use at least six characters. At least one should be a number or non-letter character and no dictionary words allowed. e.g. instead of "mudpie" try "mudp13!" or use "D4n131" instead of "daniel"
  6. Click "Create Delegate"
  7. Next you place a check in each box representing the "powers" you want this new delegate to have. Click the question mark icon next to any "power" if you want more information. You can always edit these permissions later if you make a mistake.
  8. Click "Set Delegate Permissions" when you're done. (As of this writing, we don't have the "Success!" message up yet, but don't worry... it works!)
  9. To delete a delegate, just click the red X icon next to any delegate.
  10. To edit a delegate's permissions, click the key icon next to it's name.
