Setting Up Outlook 2002/2003
We recommend Thunderbird for all email needs as it's less prone to hack attacks then Outlook and um, it's just better. Not convinced? Read on to setup Outlook 2007 with CalicoHosting.com. Please note that because there are different versions of Outlook these instructions might vary slightly from what appears on your screen. If that happens, take a few seconds to poke around and you'll be able to get past any inconsistencies.
This won't take long at all.
- Right click on the Microsoft Outlook icon on your desktop.
- Click Show Profiles. Click Add.
- Type your full name as your Profile name and click OK.
- Click Check the box next to Manually configure server settings or additional server types. Click Next.
- Click Internet E-mail and click next.
- In the Your Name field, enter your name. In the E-mail Address field, enter your email address (e.g. youraddress@yourdomain.com)
- From the Account Type menu, select POP
- In the both the Incoming and Outgoing mail server field, enter mail.yourdomain.com (i.e. your domain name with "mail." in front of it.)
- In the User Name field, enter your entire email address again.
- Click the More Settings button.
- Click the Outgoing Server tab, then verify the following.
My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication: Checked
Log on using: Checked
User Name: Your whole email address
Password: Your Password
Remember password checked - Click the Advanced tab. Verify the following, then click OK.
Unless you know how to setup SSL or TLS, there should NOT be a check by - This server requires SSL
- Under delivery, Check all three boxes and enter 14 days.
- Click Next, then Finish.
